Second Meeting of the Piaśnica Museum Support Association

meeting of the Piaśnica Museum Council 2025

Piaśnica Museum Support Association

On Friday, 12 December 2025, the second meeting of the Piaśnica Museum Support Association was held, which, by order of the Director of the Stutthof Museum in Sztutowo, has taken the form of an advisory body with a two-year term of office. During the meeting, museum director Dr Magdalena Sacha discussed the status of the implementation of the institution's current tasks, which arise from the Act of 21 November 1996 on museums. Of particular value to the institution are the donations added to the collection during the reporting period from Teodor Bach, a victim of the Nazi mass murder in Piaśnica, the extensive donation of materials from Prof. Witosława Frankowska, daughter of the late Kashubian social activist Edmund Kamiński, and the donation from Mr Jan Pałka, member of the Social Committee for the Maintenance of the Graves of Piaśnica. The new design and layout of the museum's website were also presented. In the working part of the meeting, the Friends' Association adopted the draft rules of procedure and passed a resolution expressing its support for the conversion of the premises of the Piaśnica Museum, previously known as ‘Klubokawiarnia Stare Kino’, into the public Piaśnica Reading Room.

Advent Celebration

After the meeting of the Friends of the Piaśnica Museum, an Advent celebration was held. The celebration was attended by members of the Social Council of the Piaśnica Museum, representatives of the ‘Rodzina Piaśnicka’ (Piaśnica Family) association in Wejherowo, museum staff, and guests. During the meeting, Father Daniel Nowak, custodian of the Shrine of Blessed Martyr Alicja Kotowska and her companions in Piaśnica, conveyed his wishes for love and peace to those present. The director of the Piaśnica Museum, Dr Magdalena Sacha, wished everyone a Merry Christmas and good luck in the New Year 2026. The joint singing of Polish, Kashubian, Protestant, and Orthodox Christmas carols was enriched by the piano playing of Prof. Witosława Frankowska and the soprano Daria Wasiluk.
